Do you cover all of Nelson city?

Yes. Peak Electric works right across Nelson city and the surrounding suburbs — central Nelson, The Wood, Tāhunanui, Atawhai, Britannia Heights, Washington Valley, Toi Toi and the hill suburbs behind town. Being based in Hope means we're a short drive away and can usually organise a visit within a few working days for smaller jobs. Larger renovations, new builds and switchboard upgrades are booked in advance. If your address is on the edge of the service area, give us a call to confirm before booking.

Absolutely — a large portion of the Nelson work we do is upgrades to older properties. Character homes around The Wood, Britannia Heights and central Nelson often still have ageing wiring, undersized switchboards, no RCD protection or a mix of old and new fittings from past renovations. We can safely upgrade the parts that matter most — usually the switchboard, sub-mains, high-risk circuits and any exposed old cabling — without ripping the whole house apart. Everything is documented properly so you know what's been changed.

Yes. Peak Electric works alongside local Nelson builders on renovations, extensions, second-storey additions and full new builds. That includes pricing off the plans, first fix (rough-in), second fix (fit-off), commissioning and issuing the Certificate of Compliance at the end. We're used to coordinating around other trades to keep the programme on track and will flag anything early rather than leave surprises for handover.
